Agfa RSX II 50 & 100

These two new generation professional films by Agfa are indeed very similar to each other and it is hard to tell the difference simply watching slides. Form purely technical point of view none of them is up to the standards set by the best professional Fuji or Kodak films: both have lower resolution, larger grain and lower color saturation then their competitors. So is Agfa really a Fuji's and Kodak's competitor? In my opinion, the answer is definitely YES. The point is that not only technical aspects count: Agfa RSX II 50 & 100 seem to be the first films with almost perfect color rendition. Have you noticed that most photographers are either Fuji or Kodak devotees and very rarely use films from both giants? Why? Because films from either company have a slight but different tint: Fujis tend to be 'cold', with great, deep greens and blues but somewhat pale yellows and reds. Kodaks are usually 'warm', falling towards the yellowish side of the spectrum; in the case of Kodaks VS that tint can be even hardly called 'slight'. Agfas RSX II are just in the middle, giving the most natural colors I have ever seen on slides. So if your point is to get as close to nature as possible - go for Agfa RSX II (last but not least, it appears also that Agfas are substantially cheaper then professional Fujis or Kodaks, while still securing 'pro' reliability).
