Kiev 66

Kiev 66: if you are a body-builder, buy one! And a couple of lenses necessarily. I have a nice set, which consists of one body, two magazines and three lenses. That gives some 6 kg total (without a pentaprism). The camera is rather aged now but in very good condition; to be honest - to a large extent thanks to the simple fact that I am NOT a body-builder and only very rarely am I determined enough to carry it with me. Still, if you are looking for a cheep medium-format camera with great possibilities, you should definitely give Kiev 66 a closer look. If you are not much into nature or travel photography and stick mostly to portrait or studio work, the weight is not of that much concern. Actually, it has some advantages.

The camera is, in contrast to Canons, extremely sturdy. I bet you could use it as a hammer without much effect on its functionality or appearance. Talking about appearance - yes, it IS a poor man's Hasselblad. Even from a close distance it is hard to tell it from the original, at least unless you don't see the name engraved on the front. The lenses are quite good, and the convenience of replacing films in the middle of a roll is fantastic! You can take one magazine with, e.g., B&W and another one with color slides and simply attach to the camera the one you need at the moment. On the other hand - with Kiev 66's weight, you can simply take 10 Canons, each one loaded with different film... But you will not get 6 x 6 with those, and that makes a difference.
